Heavy traffic or queues

The supplementary panel depicts several cars close together in a queue. It warns that drivers may encounter heavy traffic, sudden slowing or stationary vehicles, including at motorway entrances or along motorways. In some contexts it may accompany advice to leave the motorway to avoid congestion. Drivers should reduce speed early, increase following distance and watch for the end of the queue to prevent a rear-end collision. The panel does not indicate parking, a Telepass lane, one-way traffic or mandatory overtaking on the left.
