Supplementary panels

Road markings temporarily absent

The supplementary panel indicates that the carriageway temporarily has no road markings, commonly because renewal or maintenance work is under way. It is normally placed beneath the triangular other-dangers sign. Drivers must use particular care because centre, lane and edge references may be unavailable. The panel does not mean that the road is closed or snow-covered, indicate a nearby pedestrian crossing or mark the start of a one-way road.
