Supplementary panels

No stopping before and after the sign

The no-stopping sign is supplemented by two opposite vertical arrows. This continuation panel means that the restriction extends on both sides of the sign's position: it began earlier and continues ahead. The arrows do not indicate travel directions. No stopping is stricter than no parking because it also prohibits a brief voluntary halt to pick up or set down passengers, except where a halt is imposed by traffic, necessity or an emergency.
