Standard edge delineator posts

The figure shows the standard reflectorised posts placed at the left and right edges of a two-way road. Their white and red reflectors help drivers identify the margins and follow the alignment through bends, darkness, fog or other poor visibility. They are supplementary road devices, not lane markings. They are not placed in the centre of the carriageway, do not divide it into lanes and are useful during the day as well as at night.
