Recommended diversion for road trains and articulated vehicles

The panel recommends a right-hand diversion for road trains and articulated vehicles, often to keep long or heavy combinations away from a built-up area or unsuitable route. Drivers of the vehicles shown are advised to follow the arrow. The sign neither prohibits the right turn nor requires every goods vehicle to turn immediately. It does not authorise overtaking on the right or direct lorries towards the town centre unless that is the route specifically shown.
