Reduction from three lanes to two

The green motorway sign shows the carriageway narrowing from three lanes to two. Drivers should anticipate merging traffic, check mirrors and blind spots, adjust speed and change lane in good time. A supplementary panel may state the distance to the reduction. The sign does not itself announce roadworks, require a left turn, indicate a U-turn flyover or give priority to traffic entering the motorway.
