Lane use with heavy goods vehicles excluded from the left lane

The sign allocates vehicle categories to the available lanes. Cars and motorcycles may travel in either lane, subject to the normal keep-right and overtaking rules. Goods vehicles with a maximum authorised mass over 3.5 tonnes are prohibited from using the left lane. This does not authorise goods vehicles to overtake on the right, require heavy goods vehicles to use the left lane, exclude every goods vehicle regardless of weight or prohibit buses.
