Uncontrolled pedestrian crossing

The sign showing a pedestrian on zebra markings identifies the actual location of an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing and is placed beside the crossing itself. Drivers must slow down, be ready to stop and give way to pedestrians who are crossing or preparing to cross as required by the rules. Outside built-up areas it may be preceded by the triangular pedestrian-crossing warning sign. It does not indicate an underpass or primary school, and it is not placed 150 metres before the crossing. A driver must never overtake a vehicle that has stopped to allow pedestrians to cross.
