Start of the built-up area of Taranto

The rectangular white sign with a black border and the name TARANTO is placed on roads entering the town and marks the beginning of the built-up area. It identifies the locality reached and brings the general rules for built-up areas into effect unless other signs provide differently. The same name crossed by a red diagonal would mark the end of the built-up area. This is not a tourist-destination or direction sign, a provincial-boundary sign or the name of a viaduct.
