Start of a restricted traffic zone

The sign marks the start of a zona a traffico limitato (ZTL), an Italian restricted traffic zone. Vehicle access is restricted, but the supplementary information identifies the authorised categories and may state times or other conditions. It is not a one-way road or pedestrian zone, and it does not necessarily prohibit every vehicle. Nor does it indicate a military area or a road temporarily closed because of congestion.
