Pedestrian signals
Traffic lights displaying a pedestrian symbol control a pedestrian crossing. Green permits pedestrians to cross. Amber warns pedestrians not to start crossing and requires anyone already on the carriageway to complete the crossing promptly. Red prohibits pedestrians from crossing. The signals apply specifically to pedestrians; they are not vehicle traffic lights and the symbols do not indicate an escalator or public lift.
