Yellow zigzag before a pedestrian crossing

The figure shows a pedestrian crossing preceded on the right by a yellow zigzag line. The marking highlights the approach and makes the crossing area more conspicuous. In the theory test, a pedestrian crossing may correctly be preceded by this line. Approach cautiously, keep the marked area clear and be ready to give way to pedestrians. The zigzag is not an ordinary traffic lane.
