Transverse rumble-strip markings

The figure shows repeated white transverse strips painted across the road, with arrows showing the direction of travel. Drivers should reduce speed when they encounter them. The repeated strips attract attention and encourage progressive deceleration when approaching a sensitive or hazardous point. They are not pedestrian-crossing stripes and do not by themselves mark a stop line.
