Lane-direction arrows

The figure shows direction arrows painted in lanes before a junction. They indicate the permitted movements: straight ahead, a turn, or combinations such as ahead and right. While the lane lines remain broken, drivers may move into the appropriate lane when safe. Once the lines become continuous, they must follow a direction permitted from the lane they occupy. Choose the correct lane early and never cross a continuous lane line simply because another lane has the desired arrow.
