Give way to oncoming traffic

This red-bordered circular sign shows opposing arrows: the upward red arrow represents the direction of the driver facing the sign, while the downward black arrow represents oncoming traffic. At a narrowing or alternating one-way section, it requires you to give way to vehicles approaching from the opposite direction. It may be used at roadworks or on a two-way road where opposing streams cannot pass simultaneously. Wait before entering, stopping if necessary, whenever you would impede an oncoming vehicle. It does not give you priority, alternate traffic by odd and even days or mark the start of two-way traffic. The corresponding rectangular blue sign instead gives you priority over oncoming traffic.
