Priority signs
STOP 320 metres ahead
This sign warns that a STOP sign lies 320 metres ahead, where drivers must stop and give way at the next junction. Slow down in preparation for the stop. Unlike advance warning of give way, the word STOP identifies an unconditional requirement to make a complete stop at the later junction. The sign can be used outside built-up areas and does not indicate a customs barrier.
