Stop at motorway toll station

This circular sign has a red border, black horizontal bar and the words 'ALT' and 'STAZIONE'. It requires drivers to slow down and stop at a motorway toll station or controlled motorway access for toll operations. It does not indicate a railway station, Carabinieri checkpoint, area reserved for the motorway operator, motorail loading point or ferry boarding ramp.
