Police stop: road checkpoint

The 'ALT POLIZIA' sign warns of a police road checkpoint and requires drivers to stop. It is placed at a suitable distance before the checkpoint and repeated at the stopping point. It does not indicate a national border, customs control, motorway toll station or a requirement to give way to police vehicles. It does not merely mean slow down: every driver must stop at the checkpoint.
