Prohibitory signs
No stopping
This sign prohibits a voluntary stop and therefore also any temporary halt of the vehicle. It applies 24 hours a day along the signed road and does not permit stopping to pick up or set down passengers. It is more restrictive than no parking. A halt forced by traffic, a signal, an emergency or another legal requirement is not a voluntary stop and is therefore different. Supplementary plates may state exceptions or define the extent of the restriction.
