Warning signs
Carriageway narrows on both sides
This triangular warning sign shows two black lines converging upwards. It warns that the carriageway narrows on both sides and that passing oncoming vehicles may be difficult. Reduce speed and assess the available width. A yellow-background version is used at temporary roadworks where the carriageway becomes narrower. The sign does not indicate alternating one-way traffic, a tunnel, a straight road or an acceleration lane. The triangle warns of the narrowing but does not itself establish which direction has priority.
