Warning signs

Advance warning of a pedestrian crossing

This triangular warning sign shows a pedestrian on crossing markings and warns of a pedestrian crossing ahead. It may be used in built-up areas and is normally placed in advance of the crossing on extra-urban roads. Prepare to give way to pedestrians and never overtake a vehicle that has stopped to let them cross. The sign does not indicate a pedestrian avenue, a place frequented by children or a prohibition on pedestrians. For the theory test, remember that the triangle warns of a hazard ahead. A supplementary plate may specify its distance or other conditions.
