Warning signs

Level-crossing countdown markers

These three vertical panels carry three, two and one red diagonal stripe. They are used before any type of level crossing to mark the approach to the railway crossing. They are normally placed about 150, 100 and 50 metres from the crossing, with the three-stripe marker encountered first. The stripes do not show the number of tracks, and the panels are neither regulatory signs nor roadworks signs.
