Orange plate for the carriage of dangerous goods

The orange plate is divided horizontally into two sections. The upper number is the hazard identification number; the lower number is the UN identification number for the substance being carried. These numbers help emergency services identify the risk quickly after an incident. Do not confuse this plate with rear marker plates for heavy vehicles or the red-and-white panel for projecting loads.
